How long do I have to claim missing units from an FBA inbound shipment?
No earlier than 15 days and no later than 60 days from delivery — and the shipment must show Closed status first. Miss the window and the money is gone for good.
Is the reimbursement scan really free?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser — no signup, and your CSV never leaves your device.
Doesn't Amazon reimburse this automatically now?
Not for inbound. Amazon's Inventory Defect and Reimbursement (IDR) portal covers warehouse-lost, warehouse-damage, and customer-return defects — but it excludes missing-from-inbound, removals, and warehouse disposals. Inbound shortages are still on you to catch and claim within the 60-day window, which is exactly the clock we watch.
